All JoJos put together!
Jonathan Joestar: Head of the Joestar progenitor pod, considered one of the largest mermen in history at a whopping 62 feet in length. His pod extends over several different oceans and includes the Stardust, Green Dolphin, Morioh and Passione sub-pods he frequently makes trips between each of these sub-pods, generally to visit the other members of his bloodline and coddle their hatchlings. Furthermore, because Jonathan has a unique mix of Caretaker and Protector instincts, he also finds himself tailing ships and swimming around other aquatic vessels in an effort to defend or help them in their endeavors.
Joseph Joestar: As Jonathan’s grandson and the 3rd largest of his kin (54 feet), technically Joseph is lined up to take over the main Joestar bloodline once Jonathan gets too old/passes away — he has no intentions of doing this. He split off from the main Joestar pod once he became mature, and created a smaller pod with a man (mer) named Caesar for a spell. Ceasar helped Joseph in his battle against 4, nearly ancient Leviathan mers, resulting in severely broken ribs and collarbone for Ceasar while Joseph went missing for several months. When he turned back up, he was missing his right arm from the elbow down and swimming in a slightly tilted gait. After that, he co-created another pod with his own grandson, the Stardust Crusaders, and followed them around until he heard about his half Siren son at which point he joined the Morioh pod for a bit and picked up a little fry with a unique “glass flesh” mutation that he went on to name Shizuka.
Jotaro Kujo: Unique among mers for the fact that he has a color changing mutation, and he’s partially immune to Coaxing Siren Songs — they’re unsure as to exactly what caused this, but they’ve speculated that it’s a recessive gene from Holly. He’s INCREDIBLY dense with muscle and about the same size as Joseph. Travelled from Japan’s coasts to Africa’s in search for a cure for his mother’s sudden illness, eventually surrendering her to a facility in Egypt. For the month and a half that they were staying there, they were repeatedly under siege by followers (not pod, followers) of Dio, eventually resulting in a battle that left Avdol a double arm amputee, Kakyoin partially blind in both eyes, and Polnareff missing fins on his left side. In the years following, Jotaro stayed with the Stardust Crusaders off the coasts of Japan, taking care of his less able bodied podmates — he has Jolyne at some point, but both Jotaro and Joseph have to temporarily separate from them to check out Josuke in Morioh and deal with the serial murders of merfolk in vicinity. A few years later, he checks in on Giorno at Jonathan’s request along with Polnareff — Pol stays behind to help integrate Giorno with the Speedwagon Foundation and get the rest of Giorno’s new pod under control. Years later with the remaining Crusaders (and the addition of Shizuka) Jotaro helps Jolyne and her mother finish up agreements with the Green Dolphin Rehabilitation Center, the Crusaders deciding to settle down in a territory just outside of where Jolyne settles.

as of now i just realized that i haven’t shared this theory/au of mine on tumblr before, and since the stone ocean anime has wrapped up i feel it would be fun for me to share it out to even more people!
the au i developed has been centered around this one simple theory:
(my own proper explanation and reasonings will be under the cut if you’re interested)
the foot bone that was being used during stone ocean is technically and most certainly jonathan’s with his own dna. after examining the timeline, dio had given this to pucci before he fully took over jonathan’s body around the end of sdc. i’m not 100% sure though since it’s been a while - even if his body was taken over during dio’s process the metatarsal bone still has parts of jonathan inside of its structure, extracting from skeletons is a common practice for identifying remains in plenty of scientific fields due to this fact (plus with the baby having that birthmark... come on now). another aspect which ties this entire concept together is during most of it’s duration shown the green baby is incredibly fond of jolyne, taking a liking to her in an instant with anasui even commenting it’s as if it knows her (maybe even for a long time as he states in the anime).
i have been pondering about the idea that if this baby were to properly grow up and thrive instead of ultimately fusing with pucci it could have become a near copy of jonathan joestar in terms of looks. of course this baby is a plant creature so its anatomy and certain visuals aren’t fully jonathan, however the dna/genes involved are a major part of how it could grow and take shape if given the chance.
from now on i will be reblogging this and adding on explaining how the story i have developed goes - it isn’t fully planned out but i have many ideas which build upon it. as for now thank you for reading my wacky concepts. :)
#au things#jonathan joestar#stone ocean#green baby#another reason why i wanted to share my own ideas is because i saw someone share their own grown green baby!!! it got me pumped up to+#explain my own#thank you so much for reading even if you don't believe in this#this theory has meant alot to me being near and dear to my heart :)

I fear the tallest JoJo Jolyne gang will curb stomp me because i disagree and they are all so powerful
sdjkgh its ok, your just wrong <3
sdsjkdhgjks im joking im joking
but im like,,, i cant help but see jolyne as the tallest lankiest fuckin thang
like jonathans built HUGE, but he's bulky and just a bit shorter than jolyne who fuckin toWers over her family imo
gappy is just a bit shorter, and he's uncannly tall. like creature lanky tall like something a lil fucked up with this guys proportions and his silhouette would put a fight or flight reaction into you when you see him lol
then ofc giorno HAS to be the shorest, i know no other truth. wherever the joestar gene of being built HUGE went? its NOT in giorno lol, must skipped him and juiced up his brothers instead lol
#jotaro is built like jonathan just slightly smaller#joseph is still built fucking huge but like#you line him up with his stupid huge family and he comes off as a king manlet lol#josuke shorter#still a bit above average#but josukes shorter but makes up for it for being built wide#he's got a solid build#he's like on the other end of the spectrum from jolyne#jolyne is slimmer but is TALL#while josukes wide but doesnt have much height on him compared to the family#holly is defiantly taller than him and built just as wide#she could pick him up easy

Okay, so JJBA, right?
Specifically, the CANON FACT that a kid of mixed fatherhood (Dio w/ Jonathan's body) can exist. What if, somehow, by some twisted turn of fate, Dio (& technically Jonathan) had a daughter with someone fully aware of the depraved reason for that strange scar he has? The mother moved to America for family reasons & went into labor. Since she was born female & the mother wanted a boy, the mother didn't want her. Instead, she opted to leave the baby at a fire station's doorstep with a name written on a scrap of paper: the options are below.
First name choices:
-Joan
-Joanna
-Joceline
-Jocosa
-Jodie
-Jolan
-Jonina
-Jonevah
-Joolie
-Joquil
-Jordanna
-Josefina
-Jovita
-Jozette
Last name Choises:
>Joeando
>Brandstar
>Joestar-Brando
(TBH I am terrible at colliding names, I just offered the first one because it sounded close to Jane Doe, an unidentified woman's body.)
As for her personality, she could be mixed with several traits of the Joestars we know. Jonathan's manners (to an extent), Joseph's love for his family (obviously, all the Joestars have this trait aside from those Dio made. I mean in the since of being protective af of those she views as family), Josuke's love of his hair & his friends, Jotaro's stern & stoic behavior with his planning, Giorno's wit & persistance, & Jolyne's boldness (minus the moonlight from between prison bars, please). She's likely the same height as Jonathan during the whole fight(s) with Dio with decent muscle. Not feminine muscle or however the men of this ranchise are designed to look like. Think of Josuke's muscle; not too much but not too little, ect. Add Dio's genes into the cocktail that she is & you could have something interesting. As in all of these traits, but put to a Dio-level amount. Don't get me wrong, she's still decent, she just has lapses in her quiet existance & all that, but then someone slaps her trigger full force & then she's 100% Brando in terms of violence & brutality.
All of that being said, she isn't just her genetics. She could also be a roast queen, frigid/shrewd, attractive but intimidating, loves things like roller durby, boxing, snakes/reptiles, bats, spiders, big birds (falcons, hawks, harpy eagles, etc.), dogs, cats, football (american, likely), & sewing. She might be the kind of friend who could be the Uncle Iroh of the group or the one who tells you to your face when something is stupidly dangerous. Likely not one for Toxic Positivity or negative outlooks. Neutral. You don't bother me & I don't bother you mentality with a drizzle of you help me & I help you mentality.

@tyriantyrant without question. And here Kakyoin thought he’d finally met a Joestar/Kujo who isn’t towering over him...
Jolyne, on the other hand, delights in having a quasi-relative she can whirl around like that, of course.
Little reminder that Kakyoin is only 4cm taller than Jolyne
.
Now imagine her with platform heels and hair buns
#WryReblogs#Cherries and butterflies#Kakyoin Noriaki#Jolyne Kujo#excellent animation OP I love it#and yeah i looked up the heights for art and was like NO WAY ONLY 4cm too#them joestar genes are really really strong in jolyne#kakyoin is taller than the average japanese male but he still has nothing on Those Damn Kujos#love his expression at the end especially#bet you anything both polnareff AND joseph have done this before#and probably josuke and okujasu also#he's not safe from anyone

i interrupt your noritaro asks for a part 5 one. how do you think jotaro getting his ass over to italy and actually doing something would play out…
hi tony this is a great question
so i assume what you mean by this is "what if jotaro was around during the events of part 5" rather than post part 5. in this case i think it'd be jotaro showing up instead of koichi. i think what would prompt this is if the dio genes kicked in a little earlier than they do in canon so when jotaro gets a picture of giorno, he looks like his father and it scares the shit out of him. i don't think jotaro would go With koichi cause if he was the one going i think it would be because he was Certain giorno was gonna be a direct threat and he wouldn't want koichi to be in harm's way.
i think jotaro would just trail him for a while and not show himself until at the latest the black sabbath fight, at the earliest post the bruno fight
i think jotaro makes it clear from the get go he does not like giorno and he does not trust giorno and he is perfectly willing to kill giorno but also he babies him a lot cause jotaro loves underestimating people god bless and it would piss gio off so so so so much. i think the first time giorno does the muda thing he sees jotaro look genuinely scared for the first time and he very much regrets it
so basically jotaro tags along a bit solely because he's making it clear he is observing to see if giorno is gonna be a threat and giorno is just like "fucking whatever as long as you stay out of my way" (he is exasperated). jotaro wouldn't talk with any of the other members of the gang hardly at all i don't think but i think he'd like trish she reminds him of jolyne a bit. i think bruno is relentless in trying to talk to jotaro cause he's like "oh marine biology. i like fish. (:" but jotaro is an invert specialist not a vert specialist so he doesn't care. but bruno does. anyway. it's not like jotaro is tagging along the whole time but he routinely shows up to be like "whats new" and it pisses gio off so much because he has no idea who jotaro is tracking him (it's the joestar birthmark thing but gio isn't in tuned to that)
as jotaro does his check-ins he divulges more and more info. he admits at one point he hates gio on account of his dad which makes giorno REALLY pissed and is probably the cause of why he first lashes out at jotaro. "how can you judge me for the actions of a man i never even fucking met" etc. it makes jotaro thoughtful and take a step back to reevaluate his hatred. when jotaro talks about dio's various war crimes gio looks sick and it makes jotaro ache cause he didn't realize he'd find someone with the same deep rooted fear -- of becoming like dio -- especially not in someone he was sure was gonna be an enemy
when gio brings polnareff back to him i think jotaro actually explicitly apologizes. and gio who has also matured over the like week va takes place tells jotaro it's okay and he understands why he was so defensive. but jotaro combats that it wasn't okay to assume they are the same person because of one connection. he says this very quietly and it's clear he's also saying it to himself
anyway i dont think jotaro and gio would ever be besties per se. but they would have an understanding of each other and they both can be quiet together when either or both need someone to just be in a room with but no other interaction. i think jotaro would be able to return to jolyne's life if he did this cause he'd learn he's not automatically the same ass dio just cause timestop. pol would still stay with gio. yeah. well anyway
#hope this is okay. m tired a bit#cass cries#jojo spoilers#stardust crusaders spoilers#vento aureo spoilers#golden wind spoilers

Sorry for that lame knock knock joke but honestly Yandere Jojos can and are scary especially with the height differences . Imagine the protection you get from him when you go anywhere with them, even though I feel like I’m looking at a mountain. The height difference can be scary 😧
lol I think the yandere joke was good enough tho! And I agree, having a yandere Jojo can be scary, especially if its Jonathan, Joseph, or Jotaro. Those buff af, 195cm tall men can intimidate anyone. You bet they use their height and build to scare off everyone who contacts you. It backfires in the beginning stages of chasing darling because it frightens darling! But they'll try to use that to their advantage for when darling denies them or tries to escape. Stand user or not, I don't think darling stands a chance against these giants. (Lowkey I can't help but think of the seggs and the size difference 😳)
Josuke and Jolyne may not have the height like their fathers do but I think their obsessive nature and somewhat bipolar personalities can make them almost as scary to deal with. You just never know what's gonna set them off.
I have a strong hc that Giorno hits a huge growth spurt in his early 20s because of those Joestar genes. He'll grow to be 195cm too! Mafia boss with the strongest stand AND tall? Darling has no choice but to accept Giorno. 😈
And don't ever underestimate Johnny just because he's disabled. His determination is like no other. He'll never give up and his stand is just as OP as GER.

Maybe....Jotaro's babies....pls
I think about this way too much *sigh* if only
1-3 Jojos have VERY chonky babies bc they are MASSIVE. When Jolyne popped out, Jotaro's first thought was "my daughter looks like a dumpling".
Jolyne was around 7 pounds, so it's just going up from there. All the rolls, lil double chin, plump hands, chubby cheeks. Although, this is jotaro and he barely handled Jolyne yknow before he walked out. He'd probably like 3 kids max including Jolyne. And he's mostly considerate for you because god damn thats a fat ass baby you had to push out, you needed breaks in between. And your stomach is huge carrying these babies, and very active. It's like they have their own star platinum and just kicking and punching the shit out of your insides.
Joestar genes prevail here, your kids are gonna look more like Jotaro (Especially since he has black hair, a dominant trait), but it's like 3-1. So you'll have your genes splashed in there. But they all become very tall and muscular when they get older, all being variations of their daddy as they argue and fight with him and he's just accepted his fate.

What if all the stardust crusaders were also mermen?
This is my first time writing for the other Jojo’s, so I’m sorry if they’re ooc. I tried 🤷♀️
Didn’t know exactly what you wanted so I just did some random things XD (sorry for the weird formatting)
What if the Crusaders were also Mermen? Chaos, that’s what. Just imagine a journey across the seas just to beat up the sea snake that is Dio, but then think ten times harder. Going from the Pacific Ocean, to the Indian Ocean, into the Arabian Sea all just to get his ass.
Enemies are still sent by Dio, but now Dark Blue Moon is no longer special, kek. No but, while the enemies remain similar, Stands aren’t really a thing and therefore it becomes more a fight of physical strength. When Mer can come in all sorts of shapes, colours and sizes however, the battles always remain with an unsure outcome. Vanilla Ice the Giant Squid was a very close call.
The journey itself was tiresome, with them having to swim the entire way instead of being able to use transportation. Not to even mention other things. Every day is chaos - not even taking enemies into account - when travelling with the crusaders:
Polnareff won’t have to worry about clean toilets for once but still always seems to be complaining about something, Kakyoin and Jotaro are both still adolescents so they don’t quite have a grip on their instincts yet, more easily distracted by small things such as animals they don’t yet know or a shape quickly fluttering away in the current (must be chased and caught!!!), Joseph is basically an overgrown adolescent even if he is the patriarch of the pod so he usually shoots along with his grandson and friend. Iggy is there but then he isn’t??? And then he is again?? All in all, Avdol should get a medal, award, title, anything and everything really for his patience and ability to keep the others on track and keep them going.
Now, personality wise:
The Joestar pod is a big one. Family and friends coming together over time to form a larger and larger pod until it is eventually one of the largest out there. All kinds of Mer have come together to form this giant family unit and - apart from one defect (Dio) - it has stayed surprisingly tight knit.
Jonathan:
He is the pod patriarch, making the decisions together with Erina, who is the matriarch.
Super protective of the pod. Would shield the entire family with his body if he could. But since he can’t he’ll settle for just shielding all the pups, since the others can protect themselves. He is large enough to do so anyways.
Best play mate possible. All the pups love him.
I imagine he either has the body of a seal, or a blue whale. Very different yes, but he is just an excited ginormous puppy, hence the seal. But he is also a gentle giant, hence the blue whale. And also... other, more obvious reasons (*cough* he buff and giant *cough*).
Joseph:
In his younger years, he is the bane of existence of all the adults in the pod. In both his adolescent as well as young adult/adult stage, Joseph is a hyperactive troublemaker. More than once he has snuck out of pod territory, only to come fleeing back with an angry sea creature on his tail, needing resident buff protector Jonathan to step up and chase his attacker off.
In his older years, he has mellowed out a bit, needing to be since he inherited the position of pod patriarch from Jonathan. He is however, still a prankster and always will be. He will play a prank on the pups every so often where he pretends to have died in the night when they come get him for meal- or play time (He’s been scolded by Suzie Q for that after one of the pups burst out crying. He promised to never do it again, but he definitely will).
I imagine he has the lower body of a dolphin. Dolphins can be real assholes. But also very playful and agile, which Joseph stays, no matter his age. Either that, or a sawfish. Their faces look a little silly, but don’t bloody mess with them. They are fast as all hell and they can also get to be fujking big. About 7 meters (23 feet) on average to be exact. But then again, Joseph wouldn’t get the face so he has nothing to worry about.
Jotaro:
Oh, Jotaro. Our resident grumpy Mer. In a pod dynamic he usually has one of two moods. Tolerant, or, leave me the fuck alone. Usually it is the latter.
Surprisingly enough however, his personality seems to appeal to several of the pups. It’s about a 50/50 chance whether they’ll be scared of him, or think he is the coolest. Oftentimes a disgruntled Jotaro can be seen, followed by about two or three small Mer who are chatting his ears off or chewing on his side fins as they teeth.
Thanks to this, Jotaro is often the one who goes hunting. It finally gives him a bit of that peace and quiet he needs. Yare yare indeed.
I imagine Jotaro to have the body of a bull shark. Not the biggest or most aggressive shark out there, but part of the top 3 for sure. Also, Mer have the tendency to have their tails be bigger than their animal counterpart, such is definitely the case with Jotaro. Male bull sharks averaging in about 2 meters in length while just Jotaro’s tail is already almost double that.
Josuke:
Josuke has inherited some of his father’s hyperactivity unfortunately. The young Mer can often be heard from a mile away whenever he is hanging out with his friends.
Speaking of which, one day Josuke just turned up with several Mer in need of a home. Guess they’re part of the pod now!
Josuke is always quick to help anyone who needs it though. Need a hand? Josuke is there. Want someone to watch the pups? Might be a bit of a hazard, but Josuke will gladly do so. Need something that is very specific and probably quite a swim-distance away? Josuke is already on his way there.
He just wants to help and be useful, let him do stuff please 🥺
Still somehow has his hairdo, even underwater.
I drew Josuke as a Nurse shark a little while back, but for some reason I can also really see him being a sting ray?? I don’t know why, I think a sting ray fits him but that may be my bias towards stingrays.
But the lower half I can really see him having is that of a sailfish. (Have you seen the sails on those fish? They are just as impressive as Josuke’s hair. It’s a perfect match) they are fast as fuck boiiiiii, perfect for our lovable goof.
Either that or he is an otter cause they are bloody adorablez
Giorno:
Giorno wasn’t born as part of the Joestar pod unfortunately. Growing up, his father, Dio, had different goals and morals and broke away from the Joestar pod. Oftentimes Giorno heard him talk about the old pod he was once a part of, and how he vowed to wipe it from the sea.
This sparked a curiosity in the young Mer and when he was old enough, he decided to just up and leave the Brando pod. His initial goal was to find the Joestar pod he had heard so much about, but on his travels, he came across a different one. After spending some time with them, he decided to remain with Bucciarati and his pod of misfits.
All kinds of sea creatures flock to Giorno. For some reason, the calm and confident aura he gives off makes many animals feel safe and protected, hiding under or against his body if he is resting or sitting down on the ocean floor, or - if Giorno allows it - following him as he swims.
Giorno. Hmm, Giorno. I think he might have the lower body of a barracuda or a lion fish. Sleek, streamlined, dangerous. Or, pretty, yet hard to approach with his poisonous spikes poised unless he trusts you and allows you near. His spikes will lie as flat down his body as he can get them to show this. Not many Mer have this honour.
(Or he is part of the requiem shark family, lols, sorry I had to)
Jolyne:
Jolyne can be energetic or standoffish, you can never really tell which of the two it will be. Her dynamic in the pod differs from day to day depending on her mood, but when it comes to it, there is nothing she won’t do for it.
Very playful and giddy. Loves to hang out with her best friends and is the unofficial appointed forager with how much stuff she brings back whenever she goes for a swim.
Jolyne’s lower half. Hum hmm. Her body either somewhat resembles a butterfly fish, only- updated to be more mermaid like by being more stretched out, her tail fin mainly resembling the fish while her tail is more classic. It’s very pretty though and she somehow has some octopus genes in her, making her able to change colours, which she absolutely loves to do, nearly coming in with a new colour every day (though she has a few favourites) Either that, or she resembles her dad a little more with the lower half of a spinner shark. She’s sleek and agile. A swift and dangerous predator you should not mess with. She might look harmless when she’s chatting with her friends, but when she is spinning at you with claws poised and no way to escape, you’d click a different tune.
Haven’t read part 7 or 8 yet, sorry :(

back at crispy creme's *does a backflip*
this tier follows a rating of perfect-amazing-good-didn't really care-get them away from my face. major stone ocean spoilers under the cut, having said all that, lets proceed
this is possibly one of the few parts where i've actually enjoyed the main villain as much as the main group. jolyne is an outstanding jojo - while she shares the same ambition as her father (might be the joestar/kujo genes), she is very much herself. she shows extreme strength and resilience but in the same breath she cares for her friends/the stocean gang (see: jolyne telling emporio they can keep in touch with the phone she stole from rykiel). this caring, big sister esque personality seems to also carry over to irene. as someone who relates to jolyne a lot, i can definitely feel she has a lot of love in her heart despite not growing up with a fatherly figure. she is tough - shaped like that because of her circumstances.
i loved hermes a lot, her personality is super fun and her stand is insanely destructive. i liked how she came for revenge once she had properly figured out how kiss worked - which didn't take long to figure out. foo fighters' death was very upsetting to me, i personally loved them a lot. they showed amazing character development and it was very sad to see them die because they just... had something to live for. whether that be jolyne (which, to me, seems as a beacon of hope in stone ocean) or just valuing life. a life outside of protecting whitesnake's disks, a life that foof could call theirs. them & weather dying but pushing jolyne closer to pucci was really saddening, but their sacrifices definitely weren't for nothing.
emporio, my poor boy, deserves some slack. i find it very karmic justice that emporio and weather (via the weather report stand disk) defeated pucci. emporio deserves the best, i hate how kids (see: lucy, hayato and to some extent, the VA gang that is <18) go through such difficult situations which end up traumatizing them. emporio definitely carries a heavy burden on his shoulders and he's barely 11, which is very young for a boy. weather was very badass and his fight with pucci at a certain point felt like jotaro v dio (which is referenced with the knives pointed at jolyne) when the crystalized shards of blood were pointing at him. loved him a lot especially in the bohemian rhapsody arc, where he found out how to defeat ungalo.
and now... sigh. here on hitmanboyfriend dot tumblr dot com we LOVE narciso anasui. anasui is very unapologetically himself, with his little attitude, foul mouth and his extreme fondness for jolyne (which she doesn't reciprocate. she barely bats an eyelash. if there's anybody yall should hate, there's gwess. yall just hate to see a boytoy winning). anasui is also someone who went through INSANE character development - from not really caring about anybody else that isn't jolyne, to the point where he had diver down phased inside of everyone. hadn't he cared, he would've only had diver down phased inside of jotaro and jolyne at the MiH fight and even possibly wouldn't offer to take the damage redirected to him via dd. anasui is one of my stone ocean favorites and i love him a lot, despite all his flaws (which flaws? he's perfect).
and onwards to pucci - pucci is a good villain in the sense that what he wanted to do was for the better of humanity (same as FV who just wanted to make america the most prosperous land). in a sense, if you think about it, knowing what everyone's destiny might make you happy. but also, wouldn't it make you incomplete? life is here to be lived on after all, and the paths we tread aren't paths we need to know completely. it completely stumps the human experience. but either way, back to pucci. his determination and strength are no joke, and in my opinion made in heaven as an arc and as a stand are the most terrifying. there's nothing more terrifying than knowing time is slipping away from you since it's accelerating faster and faster. i can't wait for the anime to see how they'll do made in heaven (stand and arc). definitely gives you the chills
having been done with the gang - imo stone ocean didn't have many memorable minor antags like sbr, sdc and vento aureo. the only memorable ones i can point out were gwess (who despite my previous judgement, i love unapologetically). stand isnt that impressive considering formaggio exists (and can shrink himself, which gwess cant do), but her design and overall character are my favorite. unhinged women are my favorite. miraschon is also a favorite because of her design and her stand, debt collector. i thought her arc was very fun, although im not sure how dp will handle this (or even stocean as a whole) since stocean is a bit heavier with gore. from dio's kids, my favorite (Excluding giorno) is donatello - he definitely shares far more similarities to his father dio than the rest, reminds me of diego in the sense he just wanted to achieve personal happiness now that he'd been granted his stand and was ready to disregard pucci and his ulterior motives just for his own personal ones. the other dio boys weren't that bad (love rykiel as a character, sky high is an epic stand and i love his design - ungalo gave us wolf anasui so i think we should be grateful as anasui fans), but i just found donatello personally more intriguing.
fuck sports maxx. idk what else to write here. overall stone ocean has a very likeable main cast (depending on who you are, i guess).

Is Caato a Rock-Woman? (JoJolion)
… and why I think the plot works better if she is not.
Since chapter 99 of JoJolion have revealed more information regarding the rock-humans, particularly the existence of the rock-women and how they conceive (reproduction), theory about Caato as a rock-woman has emerged once again.
Why (some) readers believe that she could be a rock-woman? I think it’s because of her youthful look. I have tried to explain why her look means nothing (to the plot) here:
The Wildest Theories of Caato
Caato Higashikata, is she Lisa Lisa 2.0?
”Caato looks very young for her age”
Caato’s seemingly youthful look (from her age) is because we, as the readers, see her that way. We saw and we think: “how attractive she is for a 52 years old grandma,” Araki has drawn her without visible wrinkles as a typical grandma, and we have compared her with how early Holy looked prior to the late Holy’s appearance (who is being the same age, she’s eventually also equally youthful).
However, in-universe, there was absolutely no hint that Caato looked much younger than her actual age. When she surprised her children during the family reunion, Joshu and Daiya supposedly didn't recall their mother’s face. If Caato really looks young like Lisa Lisa, Joshu, who wasn’t sure that she is his mother should have said: “No way you are our mother! You don't even look much older than big sis (Hato)!” or something like that. Josuke who was seeing Caato for the first time also didn't have any reaction/opinion about her look, even after Hato told about her… including her age.
Josuke (and/or Joshu) should also have reaction similar to this:
BT chapter 53: Furious Struggle from Ancient Times
Lisa Lisa’s youthful look is relevant to the plot and it is also recognized in-universe.
”Crossbreeding between human males & rock-women becomes possible”
As we all know, Caato is the ex-wife of Higashikata Norisuke IV and the mother of his four children (Jobin, Hato, Joshu and Daiya). Back in chapter 46, we had been told that the conception between rock-humans and normal humans were not possible. However, chapter 99 stated that “it is possible for human males to reproduce with rock-women”. The Higashikata family are not rock-humans, they are normal humans like us. We are sure that Norisuke IV, who was a Higashikata by birth, is a normal human.
But what about Caato (who married him)? She could be a rock-human, because if Caato a rock-human, it’s still possible for her to have child with an ordinary human (Norisuke IV). However, chapter 99 also said that rock-women don’t have strong affection or bond to the child they gave birth and Caato certainly has affection to her children.
Besides, the rock-baby at birth is only as big as beetles and we have seen how big Caato was when she was pregnant. We’ve also seen baby Daiya in the flashback as well and how her children grew up like any normal human in contrast to the tiny rock-babies who lived as parasites in a wasp hive for 17 years until they began to venture into the outside world.
Here is a simple post that summarizes the points that contradict the idea of Caato as rock-woman: click
Chapter 99 may raise the theory of Caato as a rock-woman, with the fact that only rock-women and human-men can have children, but AT THE SAME TIME disproves it by literally shows how rock-women give birth to their children. If Caato was a rock-human then that would've meant everyone except Norisuke IV and Mitsuba were rock-humans, and Tsurugi wouldn't have existed.
Above is an argument from a youtube comment that also questioned the theory. In fact, to be able to truly answer (or believe) this, there are still some mysteries about rock-humans that need to be explained in my previous post about them:
Is there any difference from rock-women when they are carrying rock-babies (sired by rock-men) and babies sired by human males?
What kinds of babies result from reproduction between human males and rock-women? A human babies, rock-babies or crossbreeds?
What are the characteristics of the crossbreeds that can distinguish them from carbon-based humans and silicon-based rock-humans?
If Caato is a rock-woman who reproduced with a human male (Norisuke IV), are their children humans, rock-humans, or crossbreeds? There is absolutely no hint that Jobin, Hato, Joshu and Daiya were somewhat different from regular humans. If Jobin is a rock-human (or half rock-human) and Mitsuba is human female, Tsurugi wouldn't have existed (as the quote above said), unless Mitsuba is a rock-woman too.
It also becomes more problematic for the Vitamin C arc with Damo and Hato, “a rock-human who dates a human”. Their relationship in JJL serves as an example to represent that the relationship between rock-human and regular human is indeed not compatible and always end up in a break-up. Making Hato into a rock-human or a half rock-human will only ruin that.
Chapter 46 told that “95% of rock-humans are Stand users” and all members of the Higashikata family become Stand users, but this fact should not use as a reason for the theory that made Caato a rock-woman.
Besides, her children were not natural-born Stand users, Joshu and Daiya awakened their Stands as they were being near the Wall Eyes. Joshu got his Stand through a bite-mark in the same way as Yasuho got hers. Norisuke IV and Mitsuba are Stand users, is Caato also the cause of this?
Can we just accept that Araki made all the members of the Higashikata family as Stand users because he wanted to make that family unique (and more interesting)?
Nevertheless, the Higashikata family for generations have family curse in the form of rock-disease, in which the bodies of those who suffer are known to begin to harden like rock. The reason why this happened to them is also (the biggest) mystery in JoJolion, some of the readers also argued that:
“Caato could be the cause of hereditary rock-disease (Higashikata’s family curse)”
Readers have thought about the theory of how the Higashikata got the family curse (rock-disease), some of them speculated that this has something to do with the rock-humans.
This speculation developed into a possibility of forbidden conception between a rock-human and a Higashikata (carbon-based human), which resulted in “family curse”, in the form of hereditary rock-disease. We still don't know “what will happen” to the babies produced by human males and rock-women, chapter 99 just said that it is possible.
(Let’s just) hypothetically speaking, if the rock-disease is indeed the result of reproduction between human male and rock-woman, if Norisuke IV is that human male and Caato is that rock-woman, if Caato becomes the reason for the curse upon the Higashikata, what about Rina who also contracted long before Norisuke IV and his children were ever born?
That should automatically disprove the theory of Caato as the source of the curse, but I can see how stubborn readers (particularly those Caatofags) will insist: what if Caato had also been in relationship with Norisuke IV's ancestors in the past? Because as a rock-woman, she may has lived far longer than Norisuke IV.
I hope that argument never exist though, it’s so dumb that it actually makes Caato to have an incestuous relationship with her descendant. Just by looking at the family tree, it is clear that this is impossible.
By looking at the family tree, what if Teru, the wife of Norisuke I was a rock-woman? As Norisuke IV and his ancestors were also affected by the rock-disease in the past, Norisuke IV himself might be a descendant of a rock-human.
If Caato as a rock-woman is the cause of the rock-disease (or at least aggravates the family curse), there should be a possibility that all her children who are half rock-humans are affected by the family curse.
But nope, it was only Jobin, just like his predecessors who were the oldest child. Still, a Caatofag made up further reasoning of why only Jobin who got the rock-disease, he said that:
“The work of genetic in which children born later acquired fewer rock-disease genes and become recessive.”
That’s why Hato, Joshu and Daiya are unaffected. Surely this theory is just a figment created by a Caatofag, so that fellow readers get convinced in his theory that Caato is a rock-woman.
The explanation of how genetics work from the union between a rock-woman and human male itself has not been explained yet (by Araki). Therefore, I still can't fully disprove it. However, I slightly suspect that the rock-disease resulting from the mating of rock-woman & human male could also be similar to genetics in Joestar family, of how the Joestar birthmark can be passed down through seven generations (from George I to Jolyne).
Yeah, since George I to Jotaro, there has never been a marriage between fellow descendants of Joestar, where the genes for the birthmark are supposed to be carried by them. From Jonathan to Jolyne it should have come a long way, even Joestar's descendants were already mixed with different races and nationalities.
As a descendant in the sixth generation of Jonathan, Jolyne should carry very little of Jonathan's genes (roughly 1/32). The probability of Jolyne to inherit Joestar birthmark should have been very small, but nope. The gene for the Joestar birthmark is so strong that all his descendants from many generations have inherited them.
That's how Araki made the genes work in his manga, so I think it is not surprising that the rock-disease gene may works this way too. At least this will fairly answer the reason for Higashikata’s family curse (rock-disease) without having to force the idea of Caato as a rock-woman and the reason behind the curse.
”Caato as a rock-human uses Locacaca to fight off her hibernation period”
Caato uses Locacaca to fight off her hibernation as a rock-human, with the narrative that Caato hid her identity as a rock-human from her family and society, and therefore no one will suspect her until future chapters will reveal it. These three premises are being used as backups for the theory:
Caato was able to perform the penal hard labor for 15 years and became the model prisoner. (chapter 55 and chapter 64)
“If I lose focus for even a moment, my skin becomes hard like rock and I sleep and sleep…” said Aishō (chapter 42)
Yotsuyu was able to cure the dog Iwasuke of the rock-disease by feeding it a piece of a Locacaca. (chapter 32)
Then, he has drawn the conclusion that “Caato used Locacaca so as not to lose focus and break her rock body”, it is the case of “fallacy of exclusive premises” to be honest. Two premises cannot give a logical foundation for a conclusion, as they will invariably be independent statements that cannot be directly related.
Why? Because the fact that Caato became a model prisoner may have nothing to do with the mechanism of rock-humans’ body or her being a rock-woman, every normal humans could be model prisoners like Caato, this statement should have weakened the possibility of her being a rock-woman. Ironically, this conflicting fact is instead being used to create the excuse that as a rock-human (which is still unconfirmed), Caato needs Locacaca to achieve this.
Aishō described the consequences as rock-humans if they ignore the hibernation period, Yotsuyu was able to cure the dog Iwasuke of the rock-disease by feeding it a piece of a Locacaca. These two premises seem to be related in which we can conclude that: "the skin that has become hard like rock can be healed by Locacaca".
However, he missed the story in chapter 42 where Aishō had to leave his then girlfriend for several months because of his hibernation as a rock-human. If Locacaca can restore rock-like hardened skin, why didn't Aishō use it? As a member of Damokan Group, wasn't it very easy for him to get the fruit? Why should he bother being honest with her if he had a big chance of hiding that fact.
But Aishō was just a mere underling to the group whereas Caato “might be” the mastermind!? The idea of her as the mastermind itself is still unconfirmed theory.
He also missed the story in chapter 64 where little Jobin was affected by his rock-disease, why didn’t Caato used Locacaca? She just used equivalent exchange on Higashikata’s land, just like her mother-in-law, Tomoko in the past. We didn’t see any Locacaca in her possession there, which should contradict their theory that Caato has access to the fruit to hide her hibernation.
Yeah, Locacaca alone might not be effective solution to cure him, but why didn’t she try to combine it with the land’s equivalent exchange ability? As her grandson Tsurugi in chapter 32 also believed that the fruit should be able to cure the rock-disease.
If Caato is indeed a rock-woman, shouldn’t a rock-human know better of how Locacaca works than any regular human (like their claim that she had used it to herself)? Because like Urban Guerilla said that “Locacaca works better to the rock-humans,” isn’t Jobin also part of rock-human (as Caatofags would like to believe)? It might work better to him.
Besides, since when did Caato start hiding her identity as a rock-woman? Only 15 years during her incarceration? I don’t think so, because Norisuke IV only found out about rock-humans' existence after his fight with Josuke against Yotsuyu in chapter 32.
Therefore logically Caato had also hidden her status as rock-woman from her family, meaning that she used the Locacaca to fight off her hibernation way before 15 years ago. So logically, Locacaca should had been in Caato's possession since her marriage to Norisuke IV, including during the flashback in chapter 64.
It seemed that whoever made this theory had completely failed to understand the abilities of the Locacaca fruit or purposely ignored certain plots, because chapter 32, chapter 42 and chapter 64 should contradict this theory instead!
“Caato as a rock-human will solve the mystery of family curse because she will tie the two halves of the story together”
Perhaps the two halves of the story are about the past “that concerns the origin of the family curse” and the present which “tells the current situation of the Higashikata family”.
However, we already saw how Caato handled the family curse in the past (chapter 64), and in that scene we did not see “her as rock-human being” and its relation with the curse. It would be convoluted and redundant to have Caato reappears as a rock-human and involve her in Higashikata’s family curse once again.
Besides, if Higashikata family are descended from a rock-human at some point (since the first generation), then the two sides of the story will inevitably get tied together regardless Caato being a rock-human or not since the Higashikata would still have the rock-human gene, this would also still tie to the chapter 99.
Therefore, this kind of plot twist will only make the storyline that has happened becomes even more complicated… in a bad way.
”The wasp’s parasitic life-cycle represents the selfish sacrifice Caato did to save Jobin’s life”
Here is the video s/he meant: click. And here is my reaction:
It’s a Japanese hornet duh… not an emerald cockroach wasp. Yeah, the translation in chapter 99 was indeed inconsistent, by referring to it back and forth as "hornet" and "wasp", it’s not really wrong though as the hornets are indeed specific types of wasp. What is wrong is this reader was not careful in reading but is too enthusiastic in writing his/her theory.
Again (like any Caatofag), s/he used symbolism and parallelism to justify his/her theory. It also coincidentally happens that emerald cockroach wasp has a similar color scheme to Caato's hair, but the curtains are blue as not everything always symbolizes something. Plus, there is no canon color in JJBA, keep this in mind!
The hornets aren’t really parasites but instead there is a parasite nematode that infects the Japanese yellow hornet.
”Caato’s hair resembles hornet’s abdomen, a symbolization of rock-humans’ motherhood”
Yeah, a reader was using a pointless aesthetic interpretation that Caato’s hair mostly resembles hornet’s abdomen, the “abdomen” is a part of the body that reflects “motherhood”, the wasps in chapter 99 have played the role of as “surrogate mom” to the rock-babies because their mother had little affection to them and abandoned them. Caato being a mother who was made to abandon her children for 15 years might foreshadow her rock-human’s nature. Even worse, some believe that Caato is Tooru’s mom.
Admittedly, it sounds very deep after being put together. However, I became concerned about the reading comprehension of whoever made this theory. Chapter 99 started from a confirmation regarding the existence of rock-women, followed by the motherhood of rock-women: how a rock-woman left her newborn baby in the middle of the wilderness, that rock-women have little to no affection for their children.
And after we saw an abandoned rock-baby under a dead tree in the wilderness, in which they have a risk to be not able to get nutrition or will be preyed on by the beasts, THIS CHILD… this newborn rock-baby was found by insects instead. Therefore, not all rock-babies are raised by hornets, there are some who do not survive their infancy, and perhaps there are some who even get raised in other ways.
But instead, in this chapter 99 we follow the growth of “this child” who was raised by hornets, and after we are given an explanation of how this baby survived and was able to grow in the hornet's hive.
We see several rock-babies who have been growing for 17 years in the hornet’s hive, started venturing into the outside world, including Tooru. So in conclusion, the chapter told of the growth of a rock-baby whom happened to be raised in a hornet’s hive… and the baby was Tooru, therefore the rock-woman in kimono appeared in that chapter is his mother.
Thus, Caato can’t be Tooru’s mom. After all, a plot twist like that will only ruin the storyline in JoJolion, besides…
This theory only undermines Caato's actual role in JoJolion
Let us review how Caato has been written and what role she has played in JoJolion so far, she has been introduced as a mysterious woman connected to Higashikata family, after that it was revealed that she is the ex-wife of Norisuke IV and the mother of his children, whom had been in prison for 15 years (for some reason we did not know other than murder at the time) and is disowned by the family. She apparently has a grudge against her ex-husband.
Several chapters later, the reason behind the murder was finally revealed, that it had something to do with the family curse. That Caato had been looking for a way to heal Jobin from the rock-disease, and the opportunity came by sacrificing the bully boy to cure her son, using equivalent exchange.
Before the chapter (64) was released, we’ve been told about how equivalent exchange works on Higashikata’s land and how a mother of Higashikata’s heir dealt with the family curse. In JJL chapter 31, we learned a story of how Tomoko, Norisuke IV’s mother cured her son from rock-disease by sacrificing herself, using equivalent exchange as well.
Caato was created as a comparison between Higashikata mothers’ role regarding of their decision and action in dealing with rock-disease and the knowledge of equivalent exchange as shown in JJL chapter 64 (her infamous flashback). It’s about “selfishness vs selflessness”, Araki has written Caato as a foil to Tomoko and Holy Joestar.
And it works better for them (Tomoko, Caato and Mitsuba) if they were simply (carbon-based) human females, ordinary women who had been married into Higashikata family, the rich family that might have been their dream. Until finally they found the consequence: that being the mistress of a prosperous family made them have to deal with the family curse that befell their sons.
Making Caato as a rock-woman who became a reason of the family curse will only ruin her backstory: She dealt with the curse that was caused by herself. Actually, it doesn't sound really bad. In fact, that can be an ironic story with deep meaning, especially if Caato becomes “the cause” beyond her control. Still, the implication of incestuous relationship is disgusting.
However, this is a problem readers (particularly Caatofags) often do in theorizing: they are too fixated on "parallelism" "deep meaning" "theme" “aesthetic points” and so on, but they put “how the story and plot progression works” aside. In other words: how the story flows.
Let’s take this premise:
“Caato is a rock-woman who caused Higashikata’s family curse, ironically she had to deal with the curse as well.”
Problems:
How did the family curse have befallen the Higashikata? We just need to wait for the future chapters.
Is Caato indeed a rock-woman? Just wait for the future chapters as well.
What is the purpose of the different ways of handling rock-disease shown by the character Tomoko if this is just a story of Caato dealing with the curse that was caused by herself?
Is there any relevance to Mitsuba as the mother of a Higashikata’s future heir who is currently dealing with that curse as well?
Why does the story sequence started with Tomoko, then Caato and finally Mitsuba in dealing with the curse?
If we sort them out, we already got Caato’s backstory in dealing with the curse, since then we’ve been through the race of new Locacaca between Josuke’s gang, Head Doctor gang, Jobin’s side (including Ojiro), then Tooru’s background and Rai's backstory. We recently got more info about the rock-humans and it’s tied to Tooru instead of Caato, until when we have to wait for the revelation of Caato as a rock-woman (and the reason behind the rock-disease)?
Is there a connection between Caato and (the new) Locacaca which is the main focus of JoJolion and currently being contested by various factions?
Jobin is dying, why does Caato not show up?
When will Caato be relevant again?
And now, if we really look at Caato’s actual role as:
A foil to Tomoko and Holy Joestar in “selfishness vs selflessness” and one of Higashikata matriarchs who have dealt with family curse.
Here is the story progression and how this actually supports that (above) premise:
We have seen Higashikata family tree in chapter 11.
We have learned equivalent exchange on Higashikata’s land in chapter 17.
We have learned about Higashikata’s rock-disease in chapter 21 and 22 (Johnny & Rina’s flashback).
We have learned about the existence of Rock-Humans in chapter 30.
We have seen how Tomoko dealt with the rock-disease and cured little Norisuke IV, using equivalent exchange in chapter 31.
We have seen Locacaca for the first time in chapter 32.
We learned more about Rock-Humans in chapter 46.
Caato’s first appearance in chapter 55, we knew that she is Jobin’s mother and was in prison for 15 years.
Higashikata family reunion and more about Caato in chapter 58, she was jailed for murder, got disowned and holds grudge to Norisuke IV.
Caato and Jobin’s backstory in chapter 64, we have seen how Caato dealt with the rock-disease and cured little Jobin, using equivalent exchange as well.
Mitsuba began relevant in chapter 77, we also discovered that she did not know about equivalent exchange, but she knows that her son Tsurugi also contracted the hereditary rock-disease.
More information about Rock-Humans, Mitsuba discovered Locacaca, and Tooru’s first appearance in chapter 81.
Up to chapter 100, the race of Locacaca is still on-going without Caato coming back (yet).
Caato has been mentioned numerous times and those mentions so far only tied to her flashback in chapter 64, still nothing new about her.
Combine the points above, and you will see what Caato's actual role is.
That's what I see from some readers (and Caatofags) who still believe that “Caato is a rock-woman or will be the main villain of this part (JJL)”. They made up various theories that can fulfill their “wish”, and this needs to stop. They haven't been able to give up the initial speculation that has long been no longer relevant. They want Caato to be something much more than what we actually got: she is one of the characters who serve the motherhood theme in JoJolion, together with Holy, Mitsuba, Tomoko, Suzuyo, Kiyomi and Tooru’s mom. And among those mothers, she is quite prominent (and memorable as well).
PS: I have said in my previous post about Caato that it might be my last post about debunking the hype of Caato. I might have broken the promise here, but this is more about the problematic idea of her as a rock-woman than her as the main villain.

i do think its fun once in awhile to stop and remember that my “joestar headshape” as ppl call it, literally started because it was how i wanted to stylize josuke specifically with his pomp, then between wanting the joestar genetics to be so fucking strong in all their family and the next joestar i ended up drawing being jotaro who just fit the headshape with his hat so well
its just funny that it was technically a design choice for josuke before it was a design choice for the joestars
#goat chatter#the key joestar traits i draw#star birthmark ofc#the headshape#and the same eye color#which is joseph and jotaros anime eye color because its a shape of blue green i really personally love lol#and i works so well for most of their color pallets i draw#alSO their built BIG#mostly just huge fuck muscles#but just big in general works#jonathan jotaro are tall and muscular builds#joseph is shorter but stocky and muscular#josuke has some muscle build but it smaller and stocky like joseph he is one the softest in the family hes got baby face fat#holly is also built like josuke#holly is built wide and strong but shes taller than josuke#and jolyne got ALL the lanky genes#shes got some muscle build but shes tall as fuck and a dangly lanky thang
